FUNDRAISING

Goals
The purpose of FOFTA's funds are to provide SCI victims and their families with the tools necessary for them to be able to adapt after a life-altering experience which has left them paralyzed and unable to continue living as a physically able-bodied, walking individual. These tools include mainly adaptive devices, exercise and medical equipment, and any items that insurance will not cover. FOFTA generates these funds in several ways:

Fundraising Events - held throughout the year
Online Store Sales - FOFTA apparel and gifts
Specialty Items - made exclusively for FOFTA
Affiliate Companies - relationships by advertising
Donations - tax deductible

Disbursement of Funds
Funds generated by or for FOFTA are disbursed in 2 ways. Any readily available funds are used to purchase items directly from vendors for individuals who have applied for assistance from FOFTA and have been approved. If funds are not available at the time of application approval or if further assistance is needed in raising money to purchase items, FOFTA helps facilitate fundraising events to assist that individual (and their family) in purchasing their needed items. In addition to assisting individual needs in the local community, FOFTA is in association with The Buoniconti Fund To Cure Paralysis and holds one or two events per year to benefit this Fund directly. As a non-profit organization, all money coming in to FOFTA goes right back out to help SCI victims: both locally (FOFTA Individuals) and nationally (Buoniconti Fund). Disbursement details are further outlined below.

FOFTA
Fundraising events which benefit FOFTA as a whole generate funds which go into the organization(s) general account and are disbursed accordingly in order to benefit SCI patients who submit an application for item disbursement and are approved by the FOFTA Board of Directors.

Buoniconti
FOFTA is in affiliation with The Buoniconti Fund To Cure Paralysis, a nationwide organization. We hold one to two fundraising events per year which solely support this fund.
